DesignGen v2.3 Release Notes
- At DesignGen, our mission is to be the fastest path from idea to delivery. v2.3 is built around two priorities: a major upgrade to the Ultra model, and a Create Studio experience that feels faster, clearer, and easier to control from the first click to checkout.
- This update is about reducing friction. Faster generations, more reliable instruction-following, cleaner transparency by default, and a Create Studio workflow that makes it easier to preview, compare, and finalize designs without fighting the UI.
What's New
- New Ultra model (main v2.3 feature): higher instruction certainty, up to 4x faster, and native transparent output (no BG removal needed, saves tokens).
- Create Studio: interactive mockups — drag, resize, and reposition designs directly on garments, with per-garment placement.
- Create Studio: better mockup comparison — compare across tees, hoodies, and crewnecks, plus multiple garment colors.
- Create Studio: new color picker + saved favorites — faster color selection and reusable saved colors.
- Create Studio: new startup tutorial — highlights recent changes and introduces Chat with Images.
- Cart + coupons upgrade: cleaner auto-applied coupons with hover details and personalized offers.
- Workspace controls: collapse Products panel and hide Chat for more canvas space (desktop + mobile).
- Image Studio upgrades: design-first canvas with zoom + pan, and one-click Image Tools (no scrolling).
- Model choice across key tools: Base, Ultra, Ultra Max available where it matters (Screenshot to Design, Edit, Generate with Reference).
- Top-right actions standardized: Export, Share, Download, Buy are always in the same place.
New Ultra Model
- Ultra is the headline change in v2.3. It's designed to follow your concept and instructions with a higher degree of certainty, so the output lands closer to what you asked for with fewer retries.
- Higher instruction certainty: prompt constraints and edits stick more consistently.
- Up to 4x faster generation speed: iterate and finish concepts quicker.
- Native transparent design output: most designs export ready-to-use without background removal.
- Token savings by default: Auto BG Removal does not run on Ultra, because transparency is already baked in.
- Best use cases: DTF-ready transparent PNG designs, sticker-style concepts, logos, bold layouts, and ideas that need clean edges fast. Workflows where you want "do what I said" reliability without prompt gymnastics.
Create Studio Updates
- Create Studio got the biggest workflow improvements in v2.3. The focus is simple: faster decisions, better previews, and less time spent clicking around.
Interactive Mockups
- You can now drag, resize, and reposition your design directly on the garment mockup.
- Quickly dial in left chest placements and sizing.
- Adjust placement visually, without guessing.
- Per-garment placement stays independent (your hoodie placement won't overwrite your tee placement).
Better Mockup Comparison
- Create Studio now makes it easier to compare how a design looks across products.
- Compare across tees, crewnecks, and hoodies.
- Add more garment colors and compare multiple colors without jumping between screens.
New Color Picker + Saved Favorites
- Color selection is faster and more reusable.
- Improved color picker for quicker browsing.
- Save favorite garment colors to your account for repeat workflows.
New Startup Tutorial
- On first launch (and for some returning users), a guided tutorial highlights the newest Create Studio improvements, including Chat with Images.
Cart + Coupon Improvements
- Coupons now feel like part of the product, not a UI interruption.
- No more large coupon banner taking over the screen.
- Coupons auto-apply when you open the cart.
- Hover the cart to see available offers, time remaining, and details.
- Clear visual indicator when an offer is active.
- Personalized offers shown directly in the cart experience.
Workspace Controls
- You can now reclaim your canvas space instantly.
- Collapse the Products panel.
- Hide Chat (desktop + mobile).
- This is especially useful when you're refining a design and want maximum room to inspect details.
Image Studio Updates
- Image Studio got usability upgrades focused on inspection and speed.
- Design-first canvas: zoom and pan to inspect details.
- Image Tools are one-click: no more scrolling to find key tools.
- Faster flow for editing, cleanup, upscaling, and vector work.
Model Choice Where It Matters
- Across key creation flows, you can select the right model for the job:
- Screenshot to Design (with optional custom instructions).
- Edit.
- Generate with Reference.
- Supporting Base, Ultra, and Ultra Max keeps workflows consistent and reduces tool-to-tool friction.
Actions Now Live in One Place
- To reduce hunting around the UI, core actions are standardized:
- Export, Share, Download, and Buy now live in the top-right so the "next step" is always obvious.

- Faster output and fewer retries with the new Ultra model.
- Faster approvals and better previews with interactive mockups and comparisons.
- Cleaner transparent files with fewer token-heavy cleanup steps.
- A more consistent path from design to export or purchase.
Usage Limits and Daily Caps
- v2.3 introduces new usage limits to keep generation performance stable across all tiers, especially during peak demand.
- Free tier: Free users can generate up to a daily limit. Once the daily limit is reached, generation will continue on the free model for the rest of the day.
- Hobby tier: Hobby users will now have tier-based usage limits applied.
- Creator tier: Creator users will now have tier-based usage limits applied.
- Pro tier: Pro is currently the only tier with no usage limits. If you want to bypass these caps, Pro is the upgrade path.
- This may change in the future as we continue scaling and tuning usage policies.
